Correction and Retraction Policy

Correction and Retraction Policy

Jurnal Ilmiah Kurva Teknik (JIKT) applies correction and retraction policies in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to maintain the integrity of the scholarly publication record.

  1. Article Correction (Correction / Erratum / Corrigendum): Corrections are issued when errors are identified in a published article that need to be rectified to ensure scientific accuracy, without invalidating the main findings or overall conclusions of the research.
    • Scope: Errors in author names or affiliations, mistakes in table or graphic data, technical formula errors, or substantive typographical errors.
    • Procedure: Correction requests may be submitted by authors or readers. If approved, JIKT will publish an official Correction Notice directly linked to the original article.
  2. Article Retraction (Retraction): An article is retracted if clear evidence indicates that the published work contains severe flaws or ethical violations that compromise its scientific reliability.
    • Reasons for Retraction: Data fabrication or falsification, major plagiarism, duplicate publication, fatal errors invalidating scientific conclusions, or severe research misconduct.
    • Procedure: Retraction decisions are made by the Editorial Board following an objective investigation, ensuring authors are granted a fair opportunity to respond.
  3. Digital Transparency and Watermarking:
    • The PDF file of a retracted article will not be removed from the OJS website to preserve the digital publication record; instead, it will be clearly watermarked with "RETRACTED" on every page.
    • The Editorial Board will publish an official Notice of Retraction clearly stating the reasons for the retraction transparently.
  4. Expression of Concern: If there are indications of serious issues that require prolonged investigation, the Editorial Board may issue an Expression of Concern to notify readers promptly.
