Publication Ethics
Usadha : Jurnal Integrasi Obat Tradisional upholds the highest ethical standards in scholarly publishing and is committed to preventing publication malpractice in any form. This ethical policy applies to all parties involved in the publication process — authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
The journal adheres to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), available at https://publicationethics.org/guidance/Guidelines .
1. Publication Ethics and Peer Review
All manuscripts submitted to Usadha undergo a double-blind peer review conducted by qualified reviewers. The review process assesses relevance, originality, contribution to the field, and clarity of presentation.
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision based on reviewers’ recommendations. Possible decisions include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection.
Usadha strictly prohibits plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and redundant publication.
2. Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for the originality and scientific integrity of their manuscripts. They must:
- Confirm that the manuscript is original and not under review elsewhere.
- Ensure that data and results are valid, accurate, and verifiable.
- Avoid all forms of fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism, including self-plagiarism.
- Cite all relevant sources properly.
- Disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
- Participate in the peer-review process and respond promptly to editorial feedback.
- Notify the editor if a significant error is identified after publication.
All listed authors must have made a substantial intellectual contribution. Ghost or honorary authorship is not permitted.
3. Reviewers’ Responsibilities
Reviewers must:
- Treat manuscripts as confidential documents.
- Provide objective, constructive, and respectful feedback.
- Suggest improvements that enhance scientific clarity and quality.
- Decline reviews in case of a conflict of interest.
- Report any suspicion of plagiarism or duplication to the editor.
- Support comments with logical reasoning and relevant references.
4. Editors’ Responsibilities
Editors must ensure that editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit and relevance. They are responsible for:
- Overseeing a fair and anonymous review process.
- Maintaining confidentiality of authors and reviewers.
- Avoiding and managing conflicts of interest.
- Taking prompt and fair action when ethical concerns arise.
- Publishing corrections, retractions, or statements of concern when necessary.
5. Conflict of Interest
All contributors must disclose any potential conflict of interest that might influence the objectivity of the publication process. When no conflict exists, this should be explicitly stated in the manuscript.
6. International Standards
Usadha adopts the COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for journal editors and reviewers, and promotes the principles of academic honesty, integrity, and transparency in all stages of publication.
