Author Guideline
General Requirements
Manuscripts submitted to Usadha: Journal of Traditional Medicine Integration must be original scientific works that have not been published elsewhere and are not under consideration by another journal. The journal accepts original research articles, review articles, and short communications related to the integration and development of traditional medicine within modern healthcare systems.
Manuscripts must be prepared using the official Usadha template (Microsoft Word format) available for download on the journal’s website. They should be written in Indonesian or English, using Calibri font (11 pt), 1.15 spacing, and a two-column layout. The total length must not exceed 8 pages for research and review articles or 4 pages for short communications.
Manuscript Structure
1. Title and Author Information
- Titles must be written in both Indonesian and English, each limited to 20 words, in Calibri Bold 14 pt with capital initials.
- Author names are written without academic titles, followed by institutional affiliations (name, address, city, postal code, and country) in Calibri Italic 10 pt.
- The corresponding author should be indicated with an asterisk (*) and include an email address.
- Superscript letters (a, b, c) are used if authors belong to different institutions.
2. Abstract
- The abstract must be written in both Indonesian and English, not exceeding 250 words, in a single paragraph using Calibri 9 pt and single spacing.
- Abstract should briefly describe the background, objectives, methods, main results, and conclusions.
- Tables, figures, citations, abbreviations, and formulas should be avoided. Use proper academic language and grammar.
- Keywords: 3–5 words or phrases that reflect the core content of the manuscript.
3. Introduction
- This section presents the background, rationale, literature context, and research objectives.
- The literature review must be concise and directly related to the research problem.
- Citations should follow the Vancouver style and be written in square brackets [1].
- End this section with a clear statement of the research purpose.
4. Materials and Methods
- This section should describe the study design, subjects or samples, data collection procedures, and analysis methods.
- If applicable, include information about materials, equipment, and modifications to existing methods. Subsections may be used where appropriate.
5. Results and Discussion
- The results section presents the main findings objectively, while the discussion interprets their significance relative to existing studies.
- Figures and tables should be embedded within the text, not appended at the end.
- Discussion should focus on theoretical and practical implications rather than restating data.
6. Conclusion
- Summarise the main findings concisely and clearly, highlighting how they address the research objectives.
- The conclusion must be written in paragraph form, not as bullet points.
7. Acknowledgements
- Acknowledgements should mention the funding institution or individuals who directly contributed to the research.
- Supervisors or unrelated parties need not be included.
8. References
References must follow the Vancouver style and be numbered sequentially as they appear in the text ([1], [2,3], [2–4,6,8]).

- Journal article: Article title. Abbreviated Journal Name. Year;Volume(Issue):pages.
- Website: Title [Internet]. Year [cited date]. Available from: URL.
Ensure that references are recent, relevant, and accurately cited.
Additional Notes
Manuscripts must conform to the Usadha template and page limits. All figures and tables should be properly numbered and placed within the text. Submissions must be uploaded in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format via the Usadha OJS system. Manuscripts not following this format will be returned for correction prior to peer review.
