Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Interdental Journal accepts both the original article (research or literature review) as well as interesting case reports. All manuscripts submitted to our platform will be published after the completion of several steps (editorial, format or content revision) from the editorial team and peer reviewers in relevant fields of expertise. The editor is entitled to edit part or all of the contents of the submitted manuscript without changing the objective of the study. Manuscripts can be written in Indonesian or in English. The written manuscript must be following the General Guidelines for the Formation of Terms

GENERAL INSTRUCTION

We accept three types of articles, which are:

  • Research
    Original research articles in basic dental science, applied, and dental health-related science. The format of the research article consists of Title Page, Abstract, Introduction, Materials And Methods, Results And Discussions, Conclusion.
  • Review
    Articles covering the latest issues in dental science, applied and dental health-related science, consisting of Titles, Abstract, Introduction, Review, And Conclusion. Systematic reviews or meta-analyses should use PRISMA guidelines.
  • Case Report
    The case report format consists of titles, abstract, IntroductionCaseCase TreatmentDiscussionsConclusion, and Suggestions

STRUCTURE
The article is written with 1 space on A4 paper, with a 2 cm margin on the left-right edge, also top and bottom edge. The article should be typed with Times New Roman, size 12. Manuscripts are submitted without using page numbers and headers/footers.

  • Title Page
    The title should be clear, short (no more than 14 words, specific and informative. Letters are typed in Bookman Old Style font size 14, space 1, bold, justified, and in whole capital letters. 1*First author, 2Second author, 3Third author, etc. (Name was written completely without any title and may not be abbreviated. Author sequence number in superscript). Give an (*) sign for the corresponding author. Letters are typed in Times New Roman size 12, space 1, and justified.
    *Institution has written completely with the name of the city and country in accordance with the order of the names of the author(s). Letters typed in Times New Roman size 9, space 1, justified and italic.
    Correspondence: Corresponding author’s email address (author’sname@email.xxx). Letters typed in Times New Roman size 11, space 1, justified.
  • Abstracts and keywords
    An abstract title is writing in bold with all capital letters. An abstract must describe the entire content of the article. If the article is written in English, the abstract is written only in English. If the article is written in Indonesian, the abstract should be written in Indonesian and English (for English abstracts, all in italics), a maximum of 250 words, aligned right and left, left-right margins deeper into 2 cm, Times New Roman 12 letters, space 1, each subtitle in bold print with a capitalized first letter, and made in 1 series of paragraphs.
    Keywords must be consist of 3-5 phrases (sort by the phrase you want to highlight), separator using commas, the first phrase is writing in capital letters, and the next phrase is writing in lowercase, flat right and left, Times New Roman 11, space 1.
  • Table
    Tables are arranged in a sequence that is presented separately in the form of attachments. Each table should be short-titled. Place annotations and abbreviations of table descriptions instead of table titles. We limit the number of images & tables maximum of 6 in total for each paper, without any vertical/horizontal lines inside the table. We do not accept captured images of tables.
  • Image and diagrams
    All forms of graphics, photographs, or diagrams will be considered as image files which to be sent separately in the form of attachments. Images written in English should be translated into Indonesian. Images of a person/patient may be accompanied by written permission. Any published images should be labeled and numbered according to the order in the text. We limit the number of images & tables maximum of 6 in total for each paper. The minimum resolution for each image is 150 dpi.
  • Statistical Method
    Explain the statistical methods in detail in the method section. 
  • Acknowledgments and funding sources (if there is any)
    Whenever applied, gratitude may be given to the research contributor without using the scholarly title. 
  • References
    References are written according to the Vancouver system. Each author's name is given a serial number according to the order in which it appears in the manuscript which is marked in the text in Arabic letters and written in superscript, placed after a period or comma punctuation. References are written at the end of the writing with the serial number according to the number listed on the manuscript. Reference sources that are referenced from journals are sought from the latest journals (journals of the last 10 years). The bibliography composition used consists of main and additional references with a total of at least 15-25 references. The main reference comes from journals and proceedings, at least 80%, and additional reference sources from Textbooks, a maximum of 20%. Reference is written in Times New Roman 12 letters, space 1, aligned right-left. It is highly recommended to use the Mendeley® reference manager application.
