Publication Ethics
Introduction
Interdental Jurnal Kedokteran Gigi (IJKG) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Faculty of Dentistry Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar. The journal is published online and is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process and are screened to prevent plagiarism and unethical research practices.
This ethical statement defines the responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, editorial board members, reviewers, and the publisher. The policy follows the principles and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
Publication in Interdental Jurnal Kedokteran Gigi (IJKG) contributes to the advancement of scientific knowledge in dentistry and related health sciences. Peer-reviewed articles represent the integrity, originality, and academic quality of the authors and their affiliated institutions. Therefore, ethical standards are essential to ensure trust in the scholarly record.
As the publisher, Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar holds full responsibility for maintaining ethical oversight throughout the publication process. Editorial independence is strictly maintained, and editorial decisions are not influenced by advertising, sponsorship, or commercial interests.
Editorial Responsibilities
Publication Decisions
The Editor-in-Chief has full authority to decide which manuscripts are accepted for publication based on scientific merit, originality, relevance, and clarity. Decisions are guided by journal policies and applicable legal standards related to copyright, defamation, and plagiarism.
Fair Play
Manuscripts are evaluated solely on intellectual content, without discrimination based on gender, race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, or political beliefs.
Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must maintain confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and disclose information only to authorized parties.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished information obtained from manuscripts for personal research without written consent from the authors.
Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers contribute to editorial decisions and help improve manuscript quality through objective and constructive evaluation. Reviewers must complete reviews promptly, maintain confidentiality, declare conflicts of interest, and report suspected plagiarism or ethical concerns.
Duties of Authors
Authors are responsible for presenting accurate, original, and reproducible research. Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to other journals. All authors listed must have made significant contributions and approved the final manuscript.
Research involving human participants or animals must receive ethical approval, and informed consent must be clearly stated. All conflicts of interest and funding sources must be disclosed. Authors must promptly notify the editor of significant errors discovered after publication.
