Focus and Scope

Agrofarm: Jurnal Agroteknologi aims to disseminate research findings and scientific advancements in the fields of crop cultivation and agricultural agribusiness. This journal serves as a platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners to share innovative findings and practical applications that contribute to the development of sustainable agriculture.

The scope of AGROFARM includes, but is not limited to:

  • Crop Cultivation: Sustainable cultivation techniques, crop management, and production systems.
  • Plant Breeding: Genetic improvement, biotechnology applications, and breeding strategies.
  • Soil Science: Soil fertility, soil conservation, and sustainable land management.
  • Plant Pests and Diseases: Identification, control strategies, and integrated pest management (IPM).
  • Agricultural Agribusiness: Economic analysis, farm business management, and agricultural marketing.

Peer Reviewed

Peer Review Process

AGROFARM implements a Double-Blind Review system. Submitted articles undergo two review stages:

  1. Pre-Review: Conducted by the editor to evaluate the article's alignment with the journal’s focus, scope, and writing style. The pre-review stage takes approximately 1–2 weeks.
  2. Substantive Review: Conducted anonymously by at least two reviewers. This stage takes approximately 4–5 weeks.


Editorial decisions are based on reviewers' recommendations:

  • Accepted Without Revisions
  • Revisions Required: Minor corrections to be submitted within 20 days.
  • Resubmit for Review: Major revisions required, will enter the next review cycle.
  • Rejected

Accepted articles will be published in the "In Progress" edition before inclusion in a regular issue.

Similarity Check

Submitted manuscripts are checked using Turnitin and must have a similarity index below 25%.

Publication Frequency

Agrofarm: Jurnal Agroteknologi is published twice a year, in May and November.

Open Access Policy

AGROFARM provides full open access. All content is freely accessible to the public to support global knowledge exchange.

Archiving

This journal uses the LOCKSS system to ensure permanent digital archiving by participating libraries for preservation and restoration purposes.

This statement of scientific publication ethics is a code of conduct for all parties involved in the journal publication process: publishers, editors, reviewers, and authors. The core ethical values are:

  1. Neutrality – Free from conflicts of interest in publication management.
  2. Fairness – Proper authorship recognition.
  3. Integrity – Free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism.

Duties and Responsibilities

Journal Management

  • Define the journal’s name, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation (if required).
  • Appoint editorial board members.
  • Define the relationships between publishers, editors, reviewers, and other parties through a contract.
  • Respect confidentiality regarding contributors, authors, editors, and reviewers.
  • Enforce norms and rules concerning intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
  • Review journal policies and communicate them to authors, editorial board, reviewers, and readers.
  • Establish codes of conduct for editors and reviewers.
  • Publish the journal regularly.
  • Ensure funding for journal sustainability.
  • Build cooperation networks and marketing.
  • Handle licensing and legal aspects.

Editors

  • Bridge the needs of readers and authors.
  • Continuously improve publication quality.
  • Apply processes to ensure the quality of published works.
  • Prioritize objective freedom of expression.
  • Maintain the academic integrity of authors.
  • Provide corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary.
  • Be responsible for formatting and writing style; the content remains the authors’ responsibility.
  • Actively seek input from authors, readers, reviewers, and the editorial board to improve publication quality.
  • Encourage journal evaluations if issues arise.
  • Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors, including requiring Ethics Clearance forms.
  • Educate researchers about publication ethics.
  • Review how editorial policies affect authors and reviewers and improve accountability.
  • Remain open to new or opposing views.
  • Avoid personal bias in decision-making.
  • Encourage authors to revise manuscripts for publication.

Reviewers

  • Appointed by the editor to review manuscripts and provide feedback for publication eligibility.
  • Must not review manuscripts with which they have a conflict of interest.
  • Maintain author confidentiality and not share corrections, feedback, or recommendations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve manuscripts.
  • Re-review revised manuscripts in accordance with scientific standards.
  • Review manuscripts on time and in compliance with the journal’s style and scientific principles.

Authors

  • Ensure all listed authors meet authorship criteria.
  • Collectively responsible for the content, including methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
  • Declare the source of funding or resources, whether direct or indirect.
  • Disclose any research limitations.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to reviewers’ comments.
  • Notify the editor if they wish to withdraw their manuscript.
  • Confirm that the submitted work is original, unpublished elsewhere in any language, and not under consideration by another publisher.
