CODE MIXING FOUND IN MAUDY AYUNDA MUSIC YOUTUBE CHANNEL: HEARTLESS SERIES

Abstract

This study focused on analyzing the type of code mixing and the level of code mixing that occurs on YouTube video by Maudy Ayunda on ‘Heartless’ series. This series provide information that relate about self-defense. This study used descriptive qualitative method to give brief explanation about what the utterances by Maudy Ayunda. In the data collection authors have done taking some steps from downloading the data source until re-watching it to process the data accurately. These things are examined by using theory from Hoffman (1991) to identify the types of code mixing and analyze the level of code mixing. The subject of this research is ‘Heartless’ series video. The result of this study found 2 types of code mixing which are Intra-sentential that has 2 level such are in the word level(adjective, noun, verb) and the clause level.
