MENGUPAS MASKULINITAS DAN FEMINITAS ITEUNG, SEORANG KARAKTER PEREMPUAN DALAM FILM “SEPERTI DENDAM, RINDU HARUS DIBAYAR TUNTAS”

Abstract

This qualitative research aims to find out the femininity and masculinity of Iteung, the main female character in a movie entitled “Seperti Dendam, Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas” and how does she manage her femininity and masculinity in doing the interaction to Ajo Kawir, the man she loved, in the movie based on dialogues, expression, and her appearances performed by her. The methods used in this research is observation method by utilizing Bem’s Sex Role Inventory theory (1974) and supported by Theory of Characterization by Minderop (2005). Data was represented by looking deep upon the femininity and masculinity of Iteung that is shown in her dialogues, body languages, and expression in performing the interaction to Ajo Kawir in the movie. The finding has shown that Iteung, the main female character, shows both of her character whether femininity and masculinity at once whenever she does the interaction with him. However, the domination of each of masculinity and femininity is determined by her intimacy and emotional boundary to Ajo Kawir which is felt by herself.
