Abstract

Abstract
This qualitative research aims to find out the masculinity characterization of the female main character
in the movie entitled “I Care a Lot” and how this features is shown through the dialogues. The method
used in collecting data were observation method by Sudaryanto (1993). Furthermore, in analysing data,
the technique used were theory sex role inventory by Bem (1974) and theory of characterization by
Minderop (2005). The finding shown that the female main character gained masculinity characterization
through the dialog in the movie
