VARIASI BAHASA PARA CONTENT CREATOR DI YOUTUBE: KAJIAN SOSIOLINGUISTIK

Abstract

Abstrack
This article aims to describe the language variations used by Indonesian YouTubers or content creators
nowadays. It is departs from the phenomenon of the emergence of youtubers and vloggers as a result of
the popularity of the YouTube platform among the younger generation today as one of the online media
that shifts various conventional media. These content creators are also competing to create interesting
video content both in terms of content as well as language and delivery style. The listening method with
the note-taking technique was used to collect data on language variations in a number of videos from
Indonesian Youtubers or content creators, especially those who are already well known and have many
followers on their YouTube channel. Furthermore, this research was analyzed descriptively
qualitatively base as a sociolingusitic analysis. The result shows that Indonesian Youtubers use a variety
of non-formal languages, with simple but attractive language styles, resulting in various language
variations or language features of Youtubers such as code switching, code mixing, slang language,
interference, and integration.
