ANALISIS SEMANTIK PADA JARGON MAKE-UP DALAM VIDEO TUTORIAL MAKE-UP DI YOUTUBE

Abstract

This study discusses the jargon contained in the field make-up in video tutorials make-up on Youtube. Research on jargon in the field make-up motivated by the emergence of many different kinds of video tutorials make-up done by beauty vlogger. World make-up raises many terms that are difficult to understand by people outside the field which is also a problem for women who are starting to want to try to make up themselves by using make-up. Jargon in the field make-up have similar terms but also have different meanings with certain fields. Therefore, this study aims to describe variations in the form of jargon make-up as well as the meaning of jargon make-up which is found in the video tutorial make-up on Youtube. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data in this study were obtained by observing and noting. The source of data in this study is utterances that contain jargon make-up from three YouTube channels beauty vlogger. The results of the study found 32 variations in the form of jargon make-up which are categorized as terms make-up, tool make-up, apply techniques make-up, and make-up finish . As for the meaning of jargon that has changed meaning, and fixed meaning. Furthermore, changes in meaning are classified into meaning expansion, narrowing meaning, and amelioration.
