The diversity of folklore in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) has not been utilized massively as teaching material for the “Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila” on the theme of local wisdom by junior high school teachers in Yogyakarta City. In fact, DIY folklore contains noble values that have positive values for students. In addition, the original literary works of a region must certainly always be preserved by the community so that they are timeless by the times. The research method in this study is a qualitative method using data collection techniques, document analysis, and interviews. The results showed that DIY folklore taken from the book Anthology of Folklore of the Special Region of Yogyakarta can be used as teaching materials or scripts for staging folklore dramas at the “Proyek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila” on the theme of local wisdom at SMPN 5 Yogyakarta and SMPN 15 Yogyakarta. The five DIY folktales contain humanism values and the dimensions of the Pancasila student profile. In addition, the five folktales studied are also in accordance with the linguistic aspects of junior high school age children, can arouse students reading interest, and are relevant to the cultural background of students in Yogyakarta City.
