Abstract

This research is about analyzing the needs of the character Harumichi Namiki in the film First Love using Henry Murray's psychoanalytic theory. First Love is a drama series about a teenage romance between Harumichi Namiki and Noguchi Yae who had separated due to a misunderstanding, but met again as adults. The purpose of this research is to describe the needs of the character Harumichi Namiki in the drama First Love. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method, by exploring the situation studied thoroughly, broadly, in depth, and a detailed description of the data. The results of the analysis show that the needs of the character Harumichi Namiki include, the need for play, the need for self-defense, the need for attack, the need for achievement, the need for joining, the need for understanding, and the need for balance.
