STRUKTUR NARATIF DALAM FILM BATTLE ROYALE I

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the narrative structure in a Japanese movie titled Battle Royale I by Koushun Takami. This movie is one of the controversial movies that shows juvenile delinquency brutality as a form of social criticism in Japanese society. The data were collected using the observation method with a note-taking technique. The data were analyzed using the qualitative descriptive analysis method. The theory used is narrative structure according to Pratista (2008). The narrative structure of this movie includes elements of space, time, problems and conflicts, goals, characters and characterizations, themes, and narrative structure patterns.
