Abstract

In the era of globalization, foreign languages ​​are important to master. Language as a medium for communicating between humans, is no exception for Foreign Citizens. Therefore foreign languages ​​need to be learned, understood and mastered. Foreign languages ​​are not only English, but other foreign languages ​​that are considered important, one of which is Japanese. To meet the demands of this globalization era, as a tourism high school in Stipram Yogyakarta, which is one of the places providing prospective workers or experts in the tourism industry, it is hoped that it can receive and provide services to all tourists; both domestic and foreign tourists, especially Japanese tourists. Then they were given Japanese courses and facilitated learning development at the NiHongo Kurabu Student Activity Unit. As a tourism-based high school, it is known that not all students are interested in Japanese, the limited number of meetings affects the deepening of mastery of Japanese. This is the main obstacle in providing Japanese language teaching. Based on the background of these problems, an interactive introduction to culture is carried out in order to provide understanding as well as attract interest in learning Japanese. By involving students fully in learning activities, class is more enjoyable with the participation and activeness of students. Cultural learning is seen as the most efficient form of improving the quality of learning because it provides motivation for Japanese language learners. Judging from the results of observations, it is known that there is an increase in interest in learning Japanese to an interest in taking Interships in Japan. The opportunity to visit Japan confirmed the culture that had been studied before. Thus, Japan has a good image according to Japanese language learners who have visited Japan. So, Image becomes positive.
