CERMAT SEBAGAI STRATEGI DIGITAL DALAM MELESTARIKAN BUDAYA LOKAL BEDAG BEDAGAN CERMAT AS A DIGITAL STRATEGY IN PRESERVING LOCAL CULTURE BEDAG BEDAGAN

Abstrak

Bali is a tourist destination that is often visited by local and foreign tourists, especially Gianyar district, which is known as the center of art in Bali, because every village in Gianyar has its own artistic characteristics. For example, the Bedag Bedagan performing art from Manukaya Let Village, Tampaksiring District, Gianyar Regency, Bali. However, unfortunately not many Balinese people know about this performing art. Therefore, by combining aspects of fine arts and performing arts through CERMAT (Digital Illustrated Stories) it can attract people's interest in reading thereby increasing knowledge about culture in Bali. The aim of this scientific work is to find out how interested the younger generation is in local culture and digital picture stories, to find out how digital picture stories can be used as a medium to promote local culture, and to find out the philosophical value of the Bedag Bedagan tradition. The method used in this research is crosssectional and the data collection instrument in this research uses a questionnaire. The result is that 70% of students prefer reading through digital works such as webtoons. So, promoting local culture through digital illustrated stories is the right strategy to introduce local culture to the community, especially the younger generation. In this paper, we chose the local cultural story Bedag Bedagan which will be made into a webtoon because the Bedag Bedagan tradition is not widely known and has an interesting storyline and has philosophical values that can be used as a basis for behavior in everyday life.
