PABATOON: THE EFFECT OF PARIBASA DIGITAL COMICS ON STUDENTS' READING INTEREST AND LEARNING OUTCOMES

Abstrak

 This research is motivated by the low reading interest and learning outcomes of students at SMPN 2 Kubutambahan towards learning Balinese, especially on Balinese paribasa material, so researchers made an android-based Balinese paribasa digital comic to see how the  influence of Paribasa digital comics on students' reading interest and Digital learning outcomes. The objectives of this study are, (1) to analyze the Comics,  Reading  effect of Balinese paribasa digital comics on student reading interest, Interest, Learning Outcomes  (2) to analyze the effect of Balinese paribasa digital comics on student learning outcomes. This research is expected to provide benefits for students, teachers, and other researchers. The research method is a quasi-experiment modeled after a nonequivalent control group, conducted from August 7 to December 20, 2023 at SMA Negeri Bali Mandara and SMPN Negeri 2 Kubutambahan. The research population was the IX grade students of SMPN 2 Kubutambahan, and there were two groups as samples. Data analysis was carried out with a quantitative approach. The data analysis process is in the form of instrument testing, prerequisite tests, and hypothesis testing. Based on descriptive statistical tests and hypothesis testing, the results obtained are; (1) Balinese paribasa digital comics have a significant effect on increasing reading interest, as evidenced by the reading interest questionnaire in the experimental group higher than the control group; (2) Balinese paribasa digital comics have a significant effect on student learning outcomes as evidenced by the results of the Paired Samples T-test sig value. (2-tailed) is 0.01 (less than 0.05), which means there is a significant difference, so the use of Balinese paribasa digital comics has an influence on student learning outcomes.
