Abstract

In this era of globalization, competition in the industry is getting tougher where each company aims to maximize the prosperity of its shareholders. In maximizing the prosperity of shareholders, it can be done by increasing the value of the company. The company value can be reflected in the stock price which is stable and continues to increase in the long term.  If the share price increases, the company value will also increase. This study aims to test and obtain empirical evidence of the effect of profitability, liquidity, leverage, and dividend policy on firm value in food and beverage sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The population of this study is the food and beverage sector companies listed on the IDX in 2017-2019.  The samples used in this study were 33 food and beverage sector companies which were determined based on the purposive sampling method. The analytical tool used is multiple linear regression analysis.The results of this study indicate that profitability and dividend policy have a positive effect on firm value. Meanwhile, liquidity and leverage have no effect on firm value. Further research can develop this research by using other variables which theoretically have an influence on firm value such as company size.
