Abstract

Return on Asset is a ratio that can be used to measure the effectiveness of a company in generating profits by utilizing its total assets. If the ROA increases, it means that the company's profitability increases so that the final impact is an increase in profitability. This study aims to analyze the effect of profit growth, company size and debt equity ratio on profitability in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2017 - 2019. The sample in this study is 32 banking companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange for the period 2017 - 2019 with a total research sample of 96 samples. Sampling using purposive sampling method and the analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study prove that profit growth has no effect on profitability in banking companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange in 2017-2019. Company size has a positive effect on profitability in banking companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange in 2017-2019. Meanwhile, the debt to equity ratio has a negative effect on profitability in banking companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange in 2017-2019.
