The Correlation Between Students’ Vocabulary Mastery And Reading Comprehension

This study aimed at finding out the correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the tenth grade students in SMK N 1 Manggis. It made use of a correlation research design. The sample consists of 35 students. They were chosen by random sampling technique. The data which were needed for this research were collected through administering tests about vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension as the research instruments and delivered by using Google Form platform. The obtained data were analysed by investigating the correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery score and reading comprehension score which was done by using IBM SPSS Statistic 24. The result of the correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension was 0.009. It described that there is a significant correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the tenth grade students of SMK N 1 Manggis in academic year 2021/2022. In conclusion, the alternative hypothesis (H_a) is accepted.

Correlation Between Self-Efficacy And Speaking Ability

The aim of this study was to find out whether or not there is significant correlation between self-efficacy and speaking ability of the tenth grade students of the school understudy. The design was correlational research design. The samples were 49 students. In collecting the data of this research, the researcher used two instruments which were self-efficacy questionnaire for self-efficacy and descriptive monologue speaking test for speaking ability. There were three aspects of self-efficacy questionnaire; level of magnitude, the strength and generality. The criteria of speaking test were grammar, pronunciation, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. The score obtained for selfefficacy was 3688 and 3896 for speaking ability. The result showed, when the student had high self-efficacy, their speaking was good, while the students who had low self-efficacy their speaking was not good. Moreover, the research instruments were made in order to collect the data needed. The data were analysed using IBM Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 26 that consist of Normality test, Homogeneity test, Pearson Product Moment and T-test. The hypothesis in this study was significantly accepted. Then the result of Pearson Product Moment analysis showed that the “r” was 0.565. It revealed that there was a significant correlation between self-efficacy and speaking ability of students. It lies between 0.400-0.600 which is moderate level.

Project-Based Learning In English As Foreign Language Teaching

This study aimed at finding out the implementation of project-based learning in language teaching especially in English as Foreign Language (EFL) students. This study used library-based research by reading, analysing and getting data from written form resources such as articles and books. In this study, some studies are reviewed to get picture of the implementation of project-based learning in language teaching. Moreover, this study also presents a design of project-based language teaching that modify Patton’s teaching steps to teach English in tertiary level. As the result, project-based learning is a learning model that engages students in accomplishing project to improve their knowledge and skills and this learning model can be applied in language teaching. Project-based learning provides learners with opportunities to use language in a meaningful and authentic context. Project-based learning engages students in activities that improve their language skills and language components in target language. Project-based learning emphasizes students to accomplish project collaboratively and engages students on doing things done based on their own plan, idea, and creativity. Since project-based learning provides opportunity for student to develop their critical thinking, communicative, creative, and cooperative skills, it can be stated that project-based learning promotes students’ 21 century skills. In addition, utilizing technology also can be plus point in implementing project-based learning effectively.

A Correlational Study Between Vocabulary Mastery And Reading Comprehension Of The Eighth-Grade Students Of SMPN 2 Ubud

Reading, one of the basic language skills, is essential to gain information and meaning. This language skill allows students to express their ideas, broaden their horizons and increase their knowledge.Reading enables them to open up their minds to new ways of thinking, perceiving, and doing things; as a result, books can be their teachers, mentors, and inspirations.This research was mainly intended to determine whether there is any significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 2 Ubud in academic year 2021/2022. The present correlationalresearch was conducted by administering the research instruments: matching cloze procedure test and short answer tasks. The research instruments were administered to 50 students who were chosen as the representative samples by applying a simple random sampling.The collected data were statistically analyzed through prerequisite and hypothesis testing in which Pearson product-moment correlation formula and t-test were applied. Based on the data analysis, it was figured out that there was a significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehensionthe eighth-grade students of SMPN 2 Ubud in academic year 2021/2022. This research finding showed that students’ vocabulary master was important when they would like to understand the reading texts further. They should master many vocabularies to make a comprehensive meaning after reading a text. In addition, the finding of this research further suggests that teachers should pay attention to students’ vocabulary mastery during the practice of reading comprehension in the teaching and learning process.

Applying Tell-Show Strategy Combined with Pictures to Improve Writing Skill of The Eighth-Grade Students of SMPN 2 Kuta Utara

Writing is one of the productive language skills that students in all grades should learn. In school, writing is taught to develop and generate the students’ ideas or thoughts in written form, such as a paragraph. However, the students still had difficulties making a well-written paragraph, especially in generating and organizing their ideas in a descriptive paragraph. In addition, they did not know how to organize the paragraph in terms of generic structures, unity, and coherence. The English teacher still used a monotonous strategy in teaching writing, and it was boring to some students. The present research objective was mainly intended to find out whether the writing skill of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 2 Kuta Utara in academic year 2021/2022 can be improved through the tell-show strategy combined with pictures. The present study made use of a classroom action research design that was conducted in two cycles. The required data were collected by administering research instruments: paragraph construction tests in the pre-test and post-tests and a structured questionnaire for the study subjects. After the cyclical research processes, it was found that the tell-show strategy combined with pictures was an appropriate strategy to improve the subjects’ writing skills, primarily descriptive paragraphs. It could be seen from the results of the pre-test, post-test 1, and post-test 2, which showed significant improvement in the students’ writing skills. Furthermore, it was supported by the structured questionnaire, which showed positive responses to the implementation of the tell-show strategy combined with pictures. It can be concluded that the writing skill of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 2 Kuta Utara in academic year 2021/2022 could be improved by implementing the tell-show strategy combined with pictures.

Students’ Self-Confidence and Speaking Skill: A Correlational Study

This study was conducted to investigate the students’ self-confidence influenced speaking skill of the eighth grade students in SMPN 2 Mengwi. A correlation research design was used in this study There were 40 students participated in this study which were chosen by using random sampling technique. The data were collected through administering questionnaires about self-confidence and speaking test as the research instruments and delivered by using WhatsApp Group platform. The obtained data were analysed by investigating the correlation between students’ self-confidence score and speaking test score which was done by using IBM SPSS Statistic 23. The correlation between students’ self-confidence and speaking skill was 0.857. It described a significant correlation between students’ self-confidence and speaking skill. In conclusion, the alternative hypothesis (H_a) is accepted.

Project-Based Language Teaching and Technology in Online Drama Class

The researcher reviewed some literatures as a basis of designing project-based language teaching integrated with technology in online drama class. The researcher adapted steps of project-based learning and created four steps in designing an implementation in drama class; the steps are introduction step, work in project step, publishing step, and reporting step. The researcher also used technology to support the implementation. The technology used is in the form of virtual meeting apps, Learning Management System, and social media. The research also reported that project-based language teaching integrated with technology in online drama class can create students-centered atmosphere which can enhance students’ autonomy, critical thinking, creativity, responsibilities, and language skills

Reading is one of the language skills which plays a very important part because it concerns about how students can get information from the written text. By strengthening their reading comprehension skill, students will gain a lot of knowledges and information from written text. The mastery of students in reading comprehension will help them developing their knowledges and language proficiency skills. Of course, in improving the reading comprehension, students should be able to master vocabulary. By mastering vocabulary in learning language skill, they can catch a lot of important messages that are delivered in the reading text. Therefore, this present study was conducted to explore whether there is any significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension of the eleventh-grade students of the SMA PGRI Blahbatuh in academic year 2021/2022. This present study used correlational research design where the researchers collected the data by giving a test for sample students which consisted of 40 students, and they were chosen randomly by using lottery system. Moreover, the data in the present study was gathered through matching cloze procedure test for assessing students’ vocabulary mastery and short-answer test for assessing students’ reading comprehension. The results of those tests were tabulated by using SPSS to see the normality and homogeneity of the data. Furthermore, the findings of this research will give the awareness for both teacher and students about the important of mastering vocabulary for enhancing the students’ reading comprehension in learning foreign language.

Interjections Translation from English to Indonesian in Diary of a Wimpy Kid-Cabin Fever

The research focused on the analysis of strategies in the translation of interjection from English to Indonesian and their functions were found in Diary of a Wimpy Kid-Cabin Fever by Jeff Kinney and translated by Maria Lubis. The purpose of this study is to find out the strategies used by the translator to translate the interjection and their functions as well. In the content analysis, the research collected sentences in the utterances of the characters in the novel. The investigating of the strategies identified using Baker (1992) and Cuenca (2006) meanwhile for analyzing the functions used Ameka’s (1992) theory. The result of the data analysis show that: 1) six strategies used by the translator to translate the interjection that found in the novel, there were Literal Translation, Translation by Using an Interjection with Dissimilar Form, But the Same Meaning, Translation by Using A Non-Interjective Structure with Similar Meaning, Translation by An Interjection with Different Meaning, Omission, and Addition of Elements. 2) There were three functions of interjection, Expressive Interjection, Conative Interjection then Phatic Interjection.

Comparative Analysis of Adverbs Tabun and Moshikashitara in Japanese

This research aims to analyze the differences between Japanese adverbs tabun and moshikashitara. Both adverbs have similar lexical meanings as ‘probably’, but contextually they were different. The data were collected from multiple Japanese news articles posted on asahi.com by observation method and note-taking techniques. Then analyzed using distribution method with expansion techniques. To analyze the meanings of both adverbs, this research used contextual meaning theory by Pateda (2001). The results show that the usage of adverbs tabun and moshikashitara serves to add meaning ‘probably’ in Japanese sentences. The data shows tabun usually ends with the expression deshou or darou. Moshikashitara usually ends with the expression kamoshiremasen or kamoshirenai. Contextually, there are differences in meanings between tabun and kamoshirenai. Tabun can be used to indicate a conclusion subjectively by a person. The conclusion is drawn from the speaker’s knowledge about the subject. Tabun also can be used to indicate formality by using the expression deshou at the end of a sentence. Moshikashitara can be used to indicate expectations about something to happen. Moshikashitara also can be used to indicate the speaker’s fear and anxiety.

Teaching Material Supplements Based on Local Genius in Biology Learning

The Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) agenda is a challenge for countries in the world, including Indonesia. The multidisciplinary approach and interconnectivity between subject matter and socio-cultural contexts that characterize ESD is a challenge. This is because so far most of the learning in Indonesia is still running partially. Indonesia and Bali in particular have cultural values that are relevant to ESD. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between local wisdom and local genius in learning. 2) Analyze the integration of teaching material supplements for the local genius values of the Balinese people in the Biology learning process. This research is a qualitative descriptive study that examines local wisdom learning materials that can be used as a supplement to biology teaching materials. The results showed that: 1) Local genius is a more specific basic framework to be used as a teaching material supplement, but it has universal values so that it can be implemented anywhere as long as it has the same conditions. 2) As for biological material that can be integrated with values local genius of Balinese people, namely, Classification/Taxonomy, Plant Physiology, Ecology, Digestive System, Excretion System, Reproduction System, Immune System, Conservation, Human Anatomy Physiology. These learning materials are very useful in developing supplementary teaching materials, modules, and books that are relevant to students' environments, especially in Bali. In addition, this material can also be used as a reference for other ethnobiological research in learning to realize ESD agenda.

Shortcuts to Memorizing English Academic Vocabulary A Case Study of English-Major Students in the Self-Regulated Learning Environment

As the scores of the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is required in lots of major companies in Thailand, every English-major student in the Bachelor of Arts Program (B.A.), Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University (BSRU), has to enroll in the course focusing on self-preparation for the TOEIC. Despite being trained in test-taking strategies throughout the semester, a number of students’ test results were below the standard set by the university corresponding to B2 (Independent User) – C1 (Proficient User) based on the CEFR Levels. The key problems reported by the students were limited time for self-preparation for the TOEIC, insufficient English academic vocabulary knowledge size, and lack of self-regulation.

To help the students, the study was conducted with the aims 1) To explore English academic vocabulary memorization strategies suitable for the self-regulated learning environment and 2) To investigate to what extent the participants could memorize the vocabulary in The Oxford 5000 CEFR Level word list within three weeks by implementing the most preferable vocabulary memorization strategy. The participants were six students selected using the purposive sampling method. They were divided into two groups. Each group of three participants explored vocabulary memorization strategies, chose one that they preferred the most, and planned on implementing the strategy or technique in the allotted period to memorize the academic vocabulary in The Oxford 5000 CEFR Level word list. Group A tested the writing memorization technique and Group B experimented the recording memorization technique. The data was collected from the participants’ vocabulary pre-test and post-test results, learning logs and notes, and interviews. It is found that both vocabulary memorization techniques chosen by the participants increased the size of the academic vocabulary learned within the three-week time. However, a remarkable increase was found in one of the participants in Group A due to flexibility of self-regulated learning environment and time management.

This research aimed to determine the correlation between vocabulary mastery and descriptive paragraph writing ability of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 5 Sukawati academic year 2021/2022. The problem statement of the research was, “is there any correlation between vocabulary mastery and descriptive paragraph writing ability?” This research used the instrument in this research was tests, namely vocabulary mastery test (matching cloze procedure test) and descriptive paragraph writing ability test (paragraph construction test). The population in this research were all students of class VIII SMPN 5 Sukawati, totaling 253 students. To select the 73 research samples, cluster sampling was conducted. The result showed the correlation between vocabulary mastery and descriptive paragraph writing ability portrayed by a correlation coefficient of 0,440. It is at the fair level. Additionally, the significance level of both vocabulary score and descriptive paragraph writing ability score are .000, which means it is smaller than .05 (.000 ≤ .05). It means that the null hypothesis is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. In conclusion, the researcher found that there is a significant correlation between students’ vocabulary mastery and descriptive paragraph writing ability because the more students master the vocabulary, the more students writing ability, especially in a descriptive paragraph or vice versa.

A Historical Overview of the Urban Development of the City of Durrës, Albania

The purpose of this article is to describe the urban development and its influencing factors of the city of Durrës, Albania, throughout the years. It is divided in two periods: the period between the years 1912-1990, and the period from the year 1990- present. The great political changes that took place in Albania in the year 1990, the change of the regime from a communist one to a democracy, as well as its entrance into the world of free market economy significantly increased the differences between the two systems in terms of urban development. The economy, demography and geographic location of Durrës, which are closely linked with the transition from a one-party system to pluralism, are all addressed in the article. These elements are found essential to the urban development of the city. Furthermore, it is important to consider the pre-1990s urban development situation of Durrës, because it contains the necessary elements which continue to be given a priority to the present day. These elements will be analyzed in a thorough overview throughout the article, in the two major historical periods.

Indoctrination of Ethic-Code Samurai Towards Kamikaze Pilots During World War II

This article discusses the indoctrination of the samurai code of ethics (Bushido) against the pilots of the Japanese Troops Kamikaze during World War II. The data were obtained through a literature study of the literature published in Japan in Japanese written from the results of interviews with the pilots who participated in the mission. The author also examines several collections of pilot letters as an expression of their hearts before carrying out the task (mission) of suicide. This study aims to understand the forms of State (Japan) indoctrination of Kamikaze pilots with a samurai code of ethics (Bushido) which made the pilots willing to sacrifice their body and soul in World War II so that conclusions can be drawn in the form of research findings. This research method is a literature study method referring to the idea of Nazir (1988). Data collection techniques with literature study according to the idea of Sugiyono (2005). The theory used in this research is the theory of hegemony Gramsci's (2014) and the theory of power relations Foucault's (2014). The results of the data analysis showed that the pilots of the Japanese Troops Kamikaze in World War II were willing to carry out attacks on enemy ships because they were indoctrinated by the State (Japan) through the samurai code of ethics, also known as Bushido, which contained moral attitudes such as courage, honor, pride. self, loyalty, and good name.

The Creation of Dance “Laos Impression”

Bang Sai Kai community, a village with a long history of flute production combined with good quality flute making skills, it is elaborate and accepted by both domestic and foreign people. There is a valuable cultural capital resulting from the accumulation of knowledge, clearly reflecting the way of life and local culture. The research team received funding from the academic service grant, Potential Development and Sustainable Quality of Life in the Community Project (2021) conducted a creative dance research to find patterns in creating dances from local wisdom, flute making of Bang Sai Kai community (Laos Village) under the name of the performance, Laos Impression. It is carried out by qualitative research methods and creative research methods through a research document survey tool; history, way of life, art and culture, and local wisdom of the Lao people in Bang Sai Kai community, interview with creative dance experts, village sage, research participants, and bring the experience of the synthetic research team to analyze data and create performance elements. The story is divided into 3 periods: the first period is immigration, the second period is lifestyle and flute making, and the third period is flute decoration through storytelling in sequence. The performers consider the talents of various forms of dance, supporting the choreography to have a variety of dimensions. Choreography uses movements in everyday life in the expectation of understanding the audiences uncomplicated. Sound chooses the right tone to compose a song with a Laos accent. Props are made of hardwood and can convey a wide range of meanings. Light only needs clarity in a presentation where the viewer must be able to see facial expressions and movement. Costumes focus on details that communicate the story very well.

The Compressive Strength of Concrete with Addition of Single-Use Mask Waste Fiber

This research proposes investigating the effect of adding single-use face mask fiber of concrete compressive strength. The fiber was taken from the mask waste as additional material in concrete. The variation of mask fiber content in the concrete are 0%, 0,125%, 0,25%, 0,375%, 0,5%, and 0,75% from total weight of concrete. About 18 cylinder specimens with 150 mm x 300 mm were used to test the compressive strength. Concrete making and testing follow standard testing from ASTM. Specimen tested compressive strength for each variation and compared to the specimen without mask fiber (variation 0%). Test results show decreasing compressive strength aligned with the increasing additional mask fiber. Decreases of compressive strength from 0,125% to 0,75% are 9,34% to 57,23%, sequentially. Compressive strength with mask fiber 0,125% and 0,25% are 20,63 MPa and 18,74 MPa that are still qualified for structural. Meanwhile, the variations 0,375%, 0,5%, and 0,75% the compressive strength under 17 MPa that do not qualify for structural. The optimum addition of mask fiber is 0,125%, decreasing the compressive strength of 9,34% compared to the concrete without mask fiber. Crack after maximum load occurs in different conditions between normal concrete and concrete with mask fiber, which caused of the mask fiber can minimize crack opening. Small crack opening shows the mask fiber content in the concrete has improved the ductility compared to the normal concrete. With an additional 0,125% of mask fiber, it estimates that the amount of adopted mask waste in a 1m³ concrete is 2,75 kg or about 687 pcs mask.

Code Switching in Daily Interaction of A Rural Society in Bali

Nowadays people are mastering not only one language and they often apply this knowledge on their communication. The result of mastering more than one language is a code-switching event. This study aimed to analyze the reasons of conducting code switching on daily conversation of a group of rural society. The data source is utterances from conversation of villager in Satra village, Klungkung-Bali. In this qualitative study, observation, recording and note-taking techniques are applied to collect the data. Theory of Chaer and Agustina (2004) about five reasons of conducting code switching action is used to do the analysis. Generally, this study found that all types of reasons are arising the code-switching actions. But the most reasons underlying the actions are (1) balancing interlocutor ability in a language, and (2) the presence of a third person or other person who does not have the same language background as the language being used by the speaker and opponent. Context of situation and the respect to people with higher social status are the other considerations of using code switching

Design and Construction of Humidity Control System at Kumbung Jamur Cijontang Using Fuzzy Logic and IoT

Mushroom farming in West Java has the largest production compared to other regions, which is recorded at 1,740,456 kilograms according to the Central Statistics Agency. In its growth period, oyster mushroom requires sufficient temperature and humidity. However, manual oyster mushroom treatment is considered less effective because it requires considerable time and (physical) energy. Therefore, this study will model a system that can provide stable humidity for mushroom to grow and develop using fuzzy logic control and IoT (Internet of Things) monitoring. The method used is a quantitative method with data in the form of relative humidity obtained from the sensor. This data will be input (as a feedback value) and will be reprocessed through fuzzy logic until it reaches the required humidity level. It aims to perform watering and drying automatically optimally. Characteristics of Paving Blocks with Addition of Mask Waste Fiber

An increase in the generation of disposable mask waste during a pandemic causes environmental pollution if it is not handled immediately. One of the handling efforts that can be an alternative is to add mask waste fibers into a mixture of paving blocks. This study was to define the characteristics of paving blocks with the addition of mask waste fibers. Parameters tested in this study include compressive strength, absorption, and permeability according to (1) testing standards. A paving block of 20x20x6 cm was used as a test object for absorption and permeability. Meanwhile, the compressive strength test was carried out on smaller specimens (6x6x6 cm). Variations in the addition of mask fibers used were: 0%, 0.125%, 0.25%, 0.375%, 0.50%, and 0.75% of the specimen's weight. The compressive strength test showed a decrease of 30.93% - 60.68%. The absorption of paving blocks with the addition of mask fibers increased in all specimen by 0.86% to 1.71%, respectively, for variations of 0.125% - 0.75%. The highest permeability was found in the specimen with a fiber content of 0.25%, which was 0.22 mm/minute. The addition of mask fibers to the paving block also prevents the paving from breaking instantly when the maximum load is exceeded. In other words, the ductility increases. With these characteristics, the mask fiber can be an additional material in the paving block mixture with the recommended optimum fiber content

This study aims to provide an assessment of the current condition of solid waste transportation system, as well as to predict future transportation with an estimate of the population following the growth in the research area. The research location is in North Lombok district, West Nusa Tenggara Province. Currently, from 15 heavy equipment for hauling solid waste, it is stated that they are in good condition so that they can work well. The waste disposal system is carried out using a sweeping method on the main roads and priority zones, while for domestic waste a transportation system is carried out with 7 different picking up service maps in a week. As a result of this weeks’ time, natural decay occurs at the location of the solid waste transportation. This makes this condition under serious treatment in the future.

Indragiri Hilir Regency is one of the districts where the number of positive cases of COVID-19 is quite high, and the death rate from the Covid-19 virus is the highest in Riau Province. Reflecting on the economic situation of the community, the local government of Indragiri Hilir Regency has made efforts to reduce the burden of each family head, especially the poor by providing social ministration. The purpose of this social ministration is to ease the burden on the community in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic situation. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Covid-19 social ministration in Indragiri Hilir Regency. This research is very important to find out whether the objectives of this program are achieved or not, in order to accelerate the handling. This study uses a qualitative approach. Primary and secondary data were collected using in-depth interviews, observation and documentation techniques. Interviews were conducted with key informants using purposive sampling method. After that the data was analyzed using N-Vivo 12. The results showed that there were still people who did not receive ministration, socialization related to social ministration was not optimal so that many people did not know about this ministration, besides those who were responsible for distributing social ministration were also less responsive to reports of people who did not receive ministration, so it was concluded that the distribution of social ministration was still not effective.

Modeling and Validation of Experimental Test Results on Infilled Frame With Eccentric Reinforced Opening

This research was conducted to find out how to model and validate experimental test results of the single-story infilled frame structure with eccentric and reinforced wall opening. Modeling method derived from this study further could be applied on complex model of full-scale building structures. Validation were being done on type 3/II and 4/II specimens from Sigmund and Penava (2012) experiment results. Specimen with full infill wall was also included as reference model. Stress-strain parametric relation curve of concrete by Mander et al. (1984) and infill wall masonry by Kaushik et al. (2007) were constructed and approached correspondingly by multiple straight lines to obtain elasticity modulus changes and lateral load stages. Number of stages of lateral load and modulus of elasticity changes then were applied to analytical models of each specimen to generate force-displacement curve. Curve of validation results from analytical model are visually alike to the experiment. There are five load stages applied to specimen 3/II and 2/III, while six load stages on specimen 4/II. Average deviation of displacement values for model 3/II, 4/II, and 2/III are about 36%, 5%, and 11%, respectively.

Creating high employee performance, the organization must be able to provide development and motivation to its employees so that employees are increasingly encouraged to carry out their duties so as to increase their overall productivity. This study aims to examine and obtain empirical evidence of the effect of human resource development on employee performance with motivation as an intervening variable at LPD in Mengwi District, Badung Regency. The population in this study were employees who worked at the LPD in Mengwi District, Badung Regency, amounting to 306 people. The sample in this study was 75 people using the Slovin formula. Collecting data using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used SEM-PLS 3.0. The results showed that: 1) human resource development had a positive but not significant effect on employee performance, 2) human resource development had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, 3) motivation had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, 4) motivation as a intervening variables affect the development of human resources on employee performance. Further research can develop this research by using other variables which in theory have an influence on employee performance.

Data processing using SPSS Version 24 For Windows analysis technique. The results of the analysis conclude that job characteristics have a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. Motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. The work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. The limitations of the research object used only focus on job characteristics, work motivation, work environment and employee job satisfaction so that it cannot analyze or reach more deeply the factors that can affect employee performance.

Banking is one of the important pillars in economic growth in a country, including Indonesia. The development of banking companies can be seen from the stock prices of banking companies on the capital market. Price is an important indicator in investment activities, the determination of stock prices is controlled by market participants based on supply and demand. Several financial ratios can have an influence on stock prices, including earnings per share, dividend payout ratio, stock trading volume, total asset turnover, market value added. The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of earnings per share, dividend payout ratio, stock trading volume, total asset turnover, market value added on stock prices of banking companies in Indonesia. The population in this study are banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2018-2020. The sample of this study amounted to 12 companies with the number of observations as many as 36 companies. The sample selection was carried out by purposive sampling method and the data that had been collected was analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results showed that the earning per share and market value added variables had a positive effect on stock prices. While the dividend payout ratio variable, stock trading volume, total asset turnover have no effect on stock prices. The growth rate and survival of tilapia greatly determines the level of production attained. Various attempts have been made to increase the growth rate and survival of tilapia. This study aims to analyze the effect of eFishery and probiotic doses on the growth rate and survival of tilapia. This study used a factorial randomized block design. The effect of eFishery and probiotic doses on growth rate and survival of tilapia were analyzed using analysis of variance. The results showed that (1) efishery did not have a single effect on the growth rate and survival of tilapia, (2) there was no interaction effect between efishery and probiotic on the survival of tilapia, (3) the dose of probiotics had a significant effect on growth rate and survival rate of tilapia. It is recommended that farmers sustainably adopt probiotic supplement technology in feed.

Tri Datu Model Slope Stability in Collaboration with Community Based Hydroseeding (Case Study: Songan Villages A and B Kintamani)

. Landslide disaster is one of the events that often occurs in northern and eastern Bali, especially in Songan A and B Kintamani villages as happened on February 9, 2017 which claimed lives. Landslide consists of two parts, namely the slip plane soil and the transition layer soil. One way to characterize soil properties is to use geotechnical methods. Five slopes that have the potential for landslides in Songan A Village (dsa1, dsa2) and Songan B Village (dsb1, dsb2, dsb3), Kintamani District, Bangli Regency, and were characterized using geotechnical methods to identify the physical magnitude of slip plane soil and transition soil layers. The results of the characterization of soil physical properties such as cohesion, shear angle, density and slope geometry were analyzed for slope stability using the Fellenius method manually. This study uses a quantitative approach, in collecting data using survey methods and sampling. To determine the value of the factor of safety (FK) using the manual Fellenius method. The existing data is processed and analyzed so that the value of the recommended safety factor is obtained. Based on the safety factor research for existing slopes by reducing the soil mass of each slope sequentially, the results are 1.45 and 5.02 m³, 1.35 and 4.49 m³, 1.36 and 1.68 m³, 1, 13 and 3 79 m³, 1.20 and 7.54 m³ on the five slopes (FK <1.5) if a landslide occurs, the landslide will cover roads and houses. From the results of the characterization, mitigation is carried out in the form of slope arrangement of the Tri Datu Model in collaboration with community-based Hydroseeding. .93 and 16.40 m³, 2.34 and 3.18 m³, 1.65 and 9.19 m³, 1.52 and 9.8 m³ all values of the factor of safety of the slopes (FK >1.5).

The problem of natural degradation due to the development of a tourist area is a major consideration in the development of natural tourism due to the environment. This research took a case study of Tracking Terbit Menoreh (TTM) tourism in Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. Natural potential in the form of scenery and culture are the main attractions offered in TTM tourism activities. The problem raised for this research is the need for landscape arrangement at tracking stopping points and along unprocessed tracking paths so that they can support the potential and increase the attractiveness offered in TTM tourism based on nature tourism that supports the CHSE concept. The objectives of this study is to obtain a concept or model of ecotourism-based TTM tourism destination landscape arrangement where nature and culture are the main attractions. This study uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method which combines qualitative and quantitative methods. with the implementation strategy using a Community Action Plan. The exploration process to find a landscape arrangement model was carried out in a participatory process through 3 stages, namely self-help surveys and mapping, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and workshops. Aisatsu is one of Japanese communication culture which is very important in Japanese society. The purpose of this study is to find out about the application of aisatsu in formal communication environment, especially within the scope of Japanese hospitality activities that focused on hotels and restaurants. The method for the research is a qualitative descriptive using library research as a methods for data collection. The data source collected from Japanese conversation’s books for special purposes: hotel and tourism. The results of this study shown that aisatsu in Japanese hospitality is not only serves as an ordinary greeting, but in a higher context, aisatsu is defined as an expression of praise, respect, and encouragement. There are two types of aisatsu commonly used in hotels and restaurants. The first one is aisatsu related to time, such as ohayou gozaimasu, konnichiwa and so on. The second one is aisatsu for visitors and customers, such as irasshaimase, youkoso, and omataseitashimashita. The key purpose of both expressions is to establish a good relationship between staff and guest.

Development of Nyegara-Gunung Agrotourism on Environmentally Base

Bali often has to face difficult choices, whether developing tourism at the expense of agriculture and the environment or keeping agriculture and environment on the limited tourism sector. In accordance with the goals of SDGs 2030, seemed better to develop Nyegara-Gunung agrotourism, with aims to provide agricultural value-added in the broadest sense and environmentally sound, as well as to develop eco-agrotourism through marketing tour packages of the activities, products, and landscapes of the agricultural cultivation. The concept was an integrating route of agricultural tourism destinations with cultivation characteristics in mountainous areas (Gunung), continuing to cultivation in moderate plains, continuing to cultivation in lowland until ending in coastal and marine cultivation areas (Nyegara). The aims of this study: (1) to map agricultural potential of the farming community in each Nyegara-Gunung agrotourism destination; (2) to analyze biophysical characters for enhancing farming in each destination; and (3) to formulate the development model for Nyegara-Gunung agrotourism. The result as follows. Nyegara-Gunung agrotourism destination in west Buleleng: cultivation for Strawberries and upland vegetables and ecotourism Buyan & Tamblingan lake in upland area of Pancasari village; organic Balinese rice farming and tropical fruit in moderate plains of Sawan-Sudaji villages; organic Black Wine agribusiness in lowland of Tangguwisia village; and Grouper hatchery and enlargement in marine cages in Gerokgak district. Nyegare-Gunung agrotourism applied for good association among agricultural activities, environmental concerns and human interests through practical cultivation and ranching as well as subak-desa adat-coastal communities involvement. Organic resources amalgamation (natural or artificial) should be applied in the cultivation, due to enriching biodiversity. Finally the agrotourism development must foster the three basic principles of sustainable development: (i) conserving natural areas; (ii) educating visitors; and (iii) benefiting the local population.

This study aims to provide a critical analysis on teaching reading that is integrated with local wisdom values based on the current and relevant related literatures. Understanding a text during reading activity is one of the crucial goals in reading comprehension. It could lead students to have better, enjoyable reading, and a better future. One of the ways to achieve it is by implementing scaffolding strategy with the integration of Extensive Reading (ER) activities and Tri Hita Karana (THK) values. It provides them with reading for pleasure with local values. It will go to the intended goals in reading. The pleasure and values that they get will facilitate them to an autonomous and a meaningful learning. Based on result of studies, implementation of scaffolding with ER and THK integration in the practice has positives impacts on the students learning. As aforementioned, it is highly applicable for current situation and effective as a strategy for having a meaningful learning. In this paper, three relevant studies will be reviewed for having framework of teaching reading.

Inserting Tri Hita Karana-Based Learning Materials to an EFL Class For Character Education

Tri Hita Karana (THK) is a Balinese Local Wisdom. The gist of THK’s teachings emphasizes three human relationships in life. The three relationships include Parahyangan relationships with God, Palemahan relationships with the natural environment, and Pawongan relationships with fellow humans which are interrelated with one another. Inserting THK-based learning materials of an English for foreign language (EFL) class especially in speaking class cannot be separated from the character education. The students may be good at English but they may be lack in the values of character education. A quantitative research with pre-experimental research design was gathered in this study. A group of students which consisted of 30 students were observed for the application of an independent variable which is presumed to cause change. A-group pretest-posttest was conducted in order to gather the data. Regarding to the findings, it could be summed up that speaking skill and character education could be improved by inserting THK-based learning materials.

The Effect of Discipline on Mathematics Learning Results of Class X Vocational School Students During the Covid-19 Pandemic

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of discipline on mathematics learning outcomes for class X SMK Negeri 1 Manggis in the 2020/2021 academic year. This research is a quantitative study in the ex-post facto category, which is conducted to examine the events that have occurred so that it demands to go back to uncovering facts and knowing the causes and effects of an event. This type of research used in this study is a causal comparative study. The population of this study were students of class X SMK Negeri 1 Manggis in the 2020/2021 academic year, while the sample in this study was class X1. Based on the results of the analysis and simple linear regression test, it shows that: (1) the students' learning discipline was sufficient with an average of 60.23; (2) The students' mathematics learning outcomes were sufficient with an average of 67.41% 3; (3) Discipline affects student learning outcomes (t. Count = 0.922; a = 0.05) so that H. is rejected, which means that there is an effect of discipline on mathematics learning outcomes of Class X students of SMK Negeri 1 Manggis, with a determination coefficient of 2.5 %. The low percentage of the effect of discipline on student mathematics learning outcomes of class X SMK Negeri 1 Manggis is influenced by several factors such as the lack of honesty of students in filling out disciplinary questionnaires, and data collection which is done online.

Women worker are low-income people who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The existence of Cash Social Assistance from the government, both local and central governments as well as donations from philanthropy which is very helpful for the women worker. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of the entrepreneurial attitude of the women worker during the Covid-19 pandemic. Respondents in this study are 30 women worker who worked at the Tabanan City market in Tabanan Regency. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression equation model. The results showed that the effectiveness of social assistance and the level of entrepreneurial spirit simultaneously had a significant effect on the variables encouraging entrepreneurial success during the Covid-19 pandemic. If viewed partially, the level of entrepreneurial spirit has a significant effect on the encouraging of Entrepreneurial Success During the Covid-19 Pandemic, with a high level of entrepreneurial spirit which will provide enthusiasm for the women worker in encouraging entrepreneurial success. While the effectiveness of cash social assistance does not have a significant effect on encouraging of entrepreneurial success during the Covid-19 pandemic, this is in accordance with the situation on the ground, where cash social assistance has not been received by the Women worker at the Tabanan City Market. The women worker at the Tabanan City Market, only get help from philanthropists who care and are willing to help the condition of the women worker who are affected by the pandemic which has resulted in decreasing the income of the women worker. Therefore, it is necessary to provide targeted assistance so that it can improve the entrepreneurial spirit of the women worker
