The purposes of this study are to identify the types of figurative language and to analyze the meaning of figurative language used in Wolf Town movie. This study used two theories. The first theory used in this research is proposed by Stanford (2003) and keraf (2009) which is used to find out types of figurative language used in Wolf Town movie. The second theory is proposed by keraf (2009) Which is used to find out the meaning of figurative language used in Wolf Town movie. The method used in collecting the data was observation method. The data of the movie were collected by downloading movie from the youtobe, watching the movie, listening and understanding the dialogue movie and taking note and classifying the data based on type’s figurative language. The data were analysed descriptively by using qualitative method. After analyzing the data, it was found that there are seven types of figurative language used in Wolf Town movie which consist of 1 simile (9%), 2 hyperbole (18%), 1 symbolism (9%), 1 sarcasm (9%), 4 repetition (37%), 1 cynicism (9%), and 1 allegory (9%). Penelitian in menggunakan dua teori. Teori pertama dikemukakan oleh Stanford (2003) dan Keraf (2009) yang digunakan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis Bahasa khiasan yang digunakan dalam movie Wolf Town. Teori kedua dikemukakan oleh Keraf (2009) yang digunakan untuk mengetahui makna makna bahasa khiasan yang digunakan dalam movie <em>Wolf Town</em>. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah metode observasi. Penulis mengumpulkan data skrip movie dengan mendownload movie dari youtobe, nonton movie, mendengarkan dan memahami dialog movie dan mencatat dan mengklasifikasi data, berdasarkan jenis bahasa khiasan. Penulis menganalisis data secara deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Setelah menganalisis data, penulis menemukan bahwa ada tujuh jenis bahasa khiasan yang di temukan di movie Wolf Town yang terdiri dari 1 simile (9%), 2 hiperbola (18%), 1 simbolik (9%), 1 sarkasme (9%), 4 repetisi (37%), 1 sinisme (9%), dan 1 alegory (9%). The aim of this study is to identify the types of slang words that are found in the song lyrics of Green Day in the five albums: “1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours” (1990), “Kerplunk !”(1991), “Dookie” (1994), “Father Of All..” (2020), and the last album “American Idiot” (2004). The method being used in this study is descriptive qualitative method and the technique is observation technique. The theory used was found in Kipfer and Chapman (2007). There are two problems that formulated by the researcher in this study, they are: (1) what are the types of figurative language that found in song lyrics of maroon 5 album Jordi, (2) what are the meaning of each type of figurative language. There are three theories that used in this study, firstly; the theory that proposed by Knickerbocker and Reninger (1974) in their book entitled Interpreting Literature, secondly; the theory of Leech (1981), in addition used the theory of Halliday and Hasan (1989) to explain the context of situation. The problem discussed in this study are (1) what types of figurative language found in English Slogan of beverage advertisements, and (2) how the meaning of the figurative language that contained in English sloganof beverage advertisements. Thus, in analyzes the data the researcher used the descriptive qualitative method by using theory proposed by Kennedy (1983) and Leech (1981). As the result of this analysis the researcher found that are 4 types of figurative language in English slogan of beverage advertisements. They are: comparative 14 data or 48,28%, contradictive 9 data or 31,03%, and correlative 6 data or 20,69%. Comparative figurative language consists of Personification, Metaphor and Simile. Contradictive figurative language consists of Hyperbole, Litotes, Paradox and Irony. Correlative language consists of Metonymy, Synechdoche, Symbol, Allusion and Elipsis. The album was chosen because it has slang words as the data source, the album has songs that are the most popular album by Justin Bieber and the most listened to songs by people around the world. The observation method was used to collect data and the qualitative method was used to collect the data clear and well-organized description of the problems. The theory used was found in Kipfer &amp; Chapman (2007) was applied in the analysis of the types of slang words. The study used two theories. The first theory is developed by Kenney ( 1998) that is used in analyzing the types of main character and the second theory from Wellek and Warren (1976) which is used in analyzing the characterization of the main character. The data were qualitatively analyzed and presented descriptively based on the theories adopted. Protagonist character was found as the finding result of the study the type of the character classified as major and dynamic character. In showing the type of the character and characterization of main character,the analysis used picture or scenes and the dialogue from the film. There are three aspects of characterization of all main characters that were found. Politeness strategies are used to convey communication with meaning and purpose to be conveyed and interpreted properly.This study aimed to identify and analyze the politeness strategy used in the Pitch Perfect 2 Movie script. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach in research. And the movie script of&nbsp; Pitch Perfect 2 movie is used as a data source in this research. The theory in this research used by Brown and Levinson about the types of politeness strategies. This study focuses on the captions where both of Indonesian and English languages are alternated. The study employs both descriptive and qualitative approach. The analysis draws upon Poplack's theory (1980) to classify the types of code-switching present in the data, while Hoffman's theory (1991) is employed to examine the underlying reasons behind these language switch. Both formal and informal method employed in presenting the findings. The analysis reveals 18 data of inter-sentential Code-switching, 13 data of intra-sentential Code-switching, and 7 data of tag switching. In communicating, the younger generation of Indonesia is also exposed to using English. The title of this article namely, “An Analysis of Intra-Lexical Code-Mixing in Podcast YouTube Channel” discusses the code-mixing phenomenon. The goal of this research is to ascertain the types of Intra-Lexical and also the level of using code-mixing in AH podcast YouTube channels. Data was taken and collected from Atta Halilintar's Youtube channel account. Documentation and observation were the methods used to gather data. The writer uses qualitative-descriptive method Hoffman's (1991) theory is used to classify the Intra-Lexical code-mixing types and Suwito's (1988) theory to classify the types of code-mixing levels. For the data collection steps in this analysis used observation and note-taking techniques. The results found in this code-mixing research are that in AH podcast, 35 code-mixings used by participants were identified. The researcher aimed to find the violation of Marxist Feminism in the movie and to identify personality traits of the main characters in facing daily discrimination in relation to Marxist Feminism violation. This research utilized the documentation method to collect data and the descriptive-qualitative method to present as well as explain how the data from the movie supports the objective of this study. In addition, Hartmann's Marxist Feminism theory (1979) and Murphy's characterization theory (1972) are used to analyze the data in this research. The findings of this research showed that the main characters in this film successfully coped with all of their problems caused by Marxist feminism stereotypes and violations with a righteous attitude. The three main characters are described as strong-willed women, which helps them deal with the daily discrimination that colored women faced at the time.
