Direct Onomatopoeia Depicted in Comic Entitled Star Wars: Bounty Hunters

This study aims to determine the occurrence of onomatopoeia in the Star Wars bounty hunters comic. Comic books are currently available in both hardcopy and digital formats, with the majority being purchased online. Onomatopoeia is an important part of comics because they use words to reflect the sounds and movements that occur in a panel. This is important because novels have limited space to explain scenarios with a large number of words. The data obtained from this study used the observation method with the following steps, first by reading, second by taking notes, and third by classifying. This study was analyzed qualitatively by using Bredin's Onomatopoeic Type Theory (1996) and analyzing its meaning using Thomas's theory (1995). Based on the results of the analysis, of onomatopoeia were found in a webcomic entitled Star Wars Bounty Hunters. This type of direct onomatopoeia was found more frequently than the other two forms, which are 85 direct onomatopoeia.
