Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi limbah kerang simping dan meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat nelayan dengan meningkatkan nilai tambah limbah kerang simping menjadi kerajinan. Pengabdian ini dilakukan melaui beberapa tahap yaitu pra survei, sosialisasi, dan pelaksanaan kegiatan. Tahap survei dilakukan untuk mengetahui kondisi lingkungan limbah kerang simping. Kemudian sosialisasi dilaksanakan untuk memberikan informasi dan pemahaman terkait pemanfaatan limbah kerang simping menjadi berbagai produk. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan mendatangkan tim yang berkompeten dalam pengolahan limbah kerang simping menjadi kerajinan tangan yang mempunyai nilai tambah yang sangat besar. Pelaksanaan pelatihan pengolahan limbah cangkang kerang sriping ini telah berjalan dengan baik dan mencapai tujuan utama, yaitu memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada masyarakat. Program pengabdian ini diharapkan menjadi langkah awal yang mendorong terciptanya wirausahawan baru yang kreatif dan inovatif dalam memanfaatkan sumber daya kelautan secara berkelanjutan.
