Abstract

This study aims to analyze and obtain empirical evidence of the effect of capital adequacy ratio, non performing loan, loan to deposit ratio, operating costs on operating income and BI rate on profitability in banking companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange for the 2017-2019 period. The sample selection was done by using purposive sampling method. The data analysis technique used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis, so that 25 banking companies were obtained as the research sample with a total of 75 banking companies observed. The data population in this study were all banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2017-2019 with a total of 45 banking companies. The results of this study indicate that the variable operating costs on operating income has a negative effect on profitability and the variable capital adequacy ratio, non-performing loans, loan to deposit ratio and the BI Rate have no effect on profitability.
