Abstract

Dividend policy is a decision made by management to determine how much profit will be distributed to investors or companies prefer not to distribute dividends, because they will be used as retained earnings to finance company funding. Several factors that influence dividend policy are liquidity, profitability, leverage, growth, and size. This study aims to re-examine the effect of liquidity, profitability, leverage, growth, and company size on dividend policy. The population of this study is all banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2017-2019. The research sample was selected using purposive sampling method. The sample in this study amounted to 13 banking companies, so the total sample was 38 company units. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results showed that the variable liquidity, profitability, size had a positive effect on dividend policy. While the leverage variable has a negative effect on dividend policy, and the growth variable has no effect on dividend policy.
